“Keeping the Prayer Wheel Turning”

After we walked on Tuesday, July 7th, we concluded that the time we spent and the whole area had been flooded with the presence of the Holy Spirit all around us. He had filled us with His peace and joy! We felt His presence with us as we walked and the trees, the cool breeze and the animals we saw just seemed to be declaring His great goodness- just as the Bible teaches us in Psalm 96:11-

Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;

Let the sea roar, and all its fullness;

Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it.

Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the LORD.

Again, as we were led to do last week, we had paused and praised our heavenly Father, Jesus Christ our precious Redeemer, and our great Helper, the Holy Spirit. We prayed with our scriptures for this week:

pray without ceasing. --1 Thessalonians 5:17 NKJV

God be merciful to us and bless us,

And cause His face to shine upon us, --Psalm 67:1 NKJV

Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning,

For in You do I trust;

Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,

For I lift up my soul to You. --Psalm 143:8 NKJV

As we praised and thanked Him, His presence filled the atmosphere around us. Even though the short walk up to the pine trees where we had begun praying had been warm and a little humid, when we became aware of His presence a cool breeze began to blow all around. As we continued walking, we actually felt cool and refreshed.

Walking the path to the other end of the trail- about ½ mile, we approached the turnaround area and each quietly prayed to Him, confessing to Him that we sin and bringing our individual sins to Him. He is the only perfect One, and we asked Him to forgive us of our daily iniquities and wash us with His precious blood. Then we asked the same for our families and for the city of Oklahoma City, the state of Oklahoma and the United States.

We paused again at the turnaround area and thanked Him with all our hearts! Jesus died for our sins; we are forgiven! We received His forgiveness by faith. As we praised Him for His love and great mercy, we were reminded by the Holy Spirit that Jesus took the whole curse for us and He completely disarmed Satan and that we should totally believe in that Truth..

As we continued walking, to bring our special prayer requests before the Lord. We again prayed for our families, our situations and for the city, state and the country. The Holy Spirit brought us another very powerful reminder that God really wants people to know- God loves us!! He loves His people so much and all of His creation! How He wants us to believe that and just call onto Him! He is truly The Good, Good Father! --So much above and beyond any of the best fathers you or I could ever imagine!

Again, His presence was all around us- His cool breezes blowing and His joy and peace flooding the area! Remembering this scene, I’m reminded of Psalm 34:8 --

Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good;

Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!

And another in the Amplified Bible-

Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus,

Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith - Hebrews 12:2a

God blessed us even more as He brought some of the different wildlife in the park to our attention- a deer, various birds and even a turtle that we think had just laid her eggs!

I know with all my heart that He is so pleased with this little effort were making to get out to this place and exercise our bodies because we are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:19). Also, by worshipping Him and crying out to Him for His blessings, favor and guidance!

For reference: The distance we walk each Tuesday is approximately 1½ miles and the time is around 1½ hours (7:30am – approximately 9:00am) because we pause and pray a few places along the way.
